Anatomy of a Working Mom: Caffeine, Curiosity, and Two Under Two

The Anatomy of Me: Professor, Mom, Reader, Work in Progress

Mom · Professor · Reader · Work in progress

Hi there! I’m so glad you found your way here. I’m a working mom of two wild, wonderful little ones: an infant who has completely dismantled my sleep schedule, and a two-year-old who asks “what’s that?” approximately four hundred times a day. Life is loud, full, and I wouldn’t trade it.

By day, I’m an anatomy professor at a local chiropractic school. Yes, I teach people how the human body works while simultaneously running on caffeine and whatever snacks I can find in the diaper bag. There’s something poetic in that, I think. When I’m not in the classroom or elbow-deep in the gross anatomy lab or toddler chaos (not sure which is messier), you’ll find me with my nose in a book, trying to carve out just a few quiet pages before someone needs something.

I also have two cats, Luke and Leia, who remain blissfully unbothered by all of the above.

“I don’t just want to survive motherhood — I want to thrive in it.”

That’s the heartbeat of this space. I know I can’t do it all, and I’ve made peace with that. But I refuse to close myself off to good things or shrink away from opportunities just because I’m a mom. Being a mother is a massive part of who I am, but it’s not the ceiling of who I can be.

I love walking, meditation, yoga, and running in theory, and someday again in practice. For now, I’m waking up every morning just trying to be a little better than I was the day before. That’s the whole goal, really.

This blog is where I talk about mom life, anatomy (because the human body is genuinely fascinating), and the books keeping me sane. Pull up a chair. You’re in good company.

Come along for the ride.

If you’re a mom trying to figure it all out, a science nerd, a fellow reader, or just someone who appreciates a little honesty about the beautiful mess of everyday life, this blog is for you. Follow along and let’s grow together, one imperfect day at a time.

yours, between bedtimes —
